We improve the Share Scoops mobile platform by identifying and overcoming any obstacles users face while trying to achieve their goals.
Share Scoops is a gamified platform that teaches young investors about corporate responsibility and financial literacy. Our goal is to ensure users can achieve their objectives by identifying and resolving any obstacles on the app.

My contribution to the final presentation.
The kickoff
We met with the Share Scoops’ CEO and created a project plan to meet our timeline and deliverables. We then carefully assessed the app’s user flow and determined the most critical fixes to prioritize based on their impact. Our objective was to improve functionality and promptly report minor technical issues to developers.
What did we do next?
We evaluated the app’s effectiveness and made improvements based on user feedback gathered through research and usability testing. 80% of the five tested users required assistance navigating the poll and were hesitant to use the tool.
Our process
“I am confused about what these votes mean and how impactful they are.”
—Rima
“I don’t know. What am I voting for? Do I vote for the app, company, or news source?”
—Patrick
How did we improve it?
Based on user feedback and data analysis, we improved the app's registration and onboarding process. I created an information architect and added tooltips to provide guidance for new users without disrupting the app's state.
Onboarding
The redesigned app has a sign-up option to skip onboarding and improved interface design with best practices.
Sign-up
We made sign-up and password creation easier by combining the screens.
Homepage
We suggested adding tooltips for new users and allowing access to more feature information to address confusion on the home page.
Journey
After much consideration and user feedback, Share Scoops stakeholders agreed that the app's journey feature needs more incentives to engage users. The journey page was removed, and a new gamification technique is being explored. I developed a wireframe concept and decided to proceed with it for the final deliverables.
Conclusion
As someone who grew up with limited resources and a limited understanding of finance, I was thrilled to work with Share Scoops on this project. The idea of creating a product that is both rewarding and impactful aligns with my values. I particularly appreciate the concept of curated finance for the younger generation and the use of gamification to make learning more engaging.

Our team has made significant progress on the project. We've sent an improved version of the screens to development, and the stakeholders are interested in exploring more of the gamification strategy and engagement loops techniques I presented.

Unfortunately, we couldn't test or measure our approach's success using data metrics. However, we received positive feedback from stakeholders, which is a good indicator of success. I look forward to seeing the app in action when it becomes available to the public.

One major challenge I found during this project was finding ways to maximize our efforts within a tight timeline. Although there was a lot of potentials, I regret not having the opportunity to gather more insights by speaking with individuals within the company and conducting a competitive analysis. Unfortunately, the CEO did not see the value in this approach as they felt they already had a clear direction. As a result, we focused more on a heuristic analysis rather than dividing our time to explore the market.
